She is universally recognized for portraying the pragmatic diplomat Dr. Elizabeth Weir in Stargate Atlantis (2004–2008), a role she originated and reprised across the Stargate franchise. She is also a theater actress and has appeared in Three Tall Women, Weldon Rising and Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
